I'm trying to get the prop shaft and cartridge out of this weedless
style lower unit of measurement field of study motor.
I found, and removed the screw that's labeled as
"Prop Shaft Bearing Housing Locking Screw"
then fastened a slide hammer.
Afterward aplenty hammering, the cartridge has not moved.
I thought information technology best at this point to inquire for sage communication before
I break something. Am I missing something?
Thank you.

That is the set screw which holds everything together so it should come autonomously. It might be fourth dimension to go the torch out to try and loosen upwardly the bearing housing. The big O band on the housing might have some corrosion backside information technology holding it in.

Thanks Mumbles. I just started up the furnace in the garage,
and will rut me upwardly with some coffee, then get throw some
rut on the Evinrude. I glanced at the lower unit while
in the garage, and information technology didn't magically come autonomously during the
nighttime….. bummer.

Just a "follow up" on my bearing cartridge removal dilemma, "It's Out".
The oestrus worked, but the cartridge still put up a good fight.
My slide hammer "cartridge puller" special didn't fifty-fifty pause to my
surprise, so in the outboard tool box it goes.

Monte, I sent y'all a PM well-nigh the Owner's Transmission. Perhaps it tells in there
about the gear example lube…… guess I'm not 100% sure.
There'due south a ball bearing under the drive shaft seal. Mine rotates
freely, then I'k guessing it skilful. I'g non pulling the seal out
until I have a new one in hand.
